The Island Park Justice Court is located at Village Hall in the Incorporated Village of Island Park. All Village ordinances, local laws, zoning ordinances and New York State traffic regulations come under the jurisdiction of the Justice Court. Arraignments are held the first Tuesday (except July which is on a Wednesday and November which is on a Monday) and trials and conferences are held on the fourth Monday of every month. The Village Justice presides at all court proceedings.

You may respond to a summons in the following ways:
- You may appear ON THE DESIGNATED COURT DATE and plead guilty or not guilty
- You may plead guilty by mail
- You may plead not guilty by mail
WARNING : FAILURE TO RESPOND TO A SUMMONS WILL RESULT IN A WARRANT FOR YOUR ARREST AND MAY RESULT IN THE SUSPENSION OF YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE.
If you plead guilty or not guilty by mail BEFORE the court date listed on your summons you DO NOT HAVE to appear in court on the court date. If you plead not guilty by mail you will be notified by mail as to when to appear.
Parking is alternated on majority of streets in the Incorporated Village of Island Park. Signs are posted along streets to inform all residents. Parking lots in the Village require parking permits (Merchant, Village Resident, Island Park Non-Resident, and Non-Resident) and are marked accordingly. Please contact the Village Clerk's Office or the Court for further information. PARKING REGULATIONS ARE IN EFFECT 24 HOURS A DAY, SEVEN DAYS, INCLUDING HOLIDAYS. DO NOT use handicapped areas unless you have a handicap permit in the car. Please notify Village Hall staff of any defective meters by calling 516-431-0600, Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 4:30 p.m.
If you receive a ticket for no insurance (VTL 319-1), THE ONLY PROOF OF INSURANCE THE COURT WILL ACCEPT IS A LETTER FROM YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY, STATING THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION WAS INSURED, WITH NO LAPSE IN COVERAGE, ON THE DATE INDICATED ON THE SUMMONS. AN INSURANCE CARD WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AS PROOF OF INSURANCE BY THE COURT. A LETTER FROM AN INSURANCE BROKER WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
Mail the following items to the Island Park Justice Court:
- Your traffic summons with PART A completed and signed.
- A stamped, self addressed envelope used for your receipt.
- The court will set the fine and notify you by mail.
If you receive a summons for operating without a license or registration, please forward a copy of the valid document along with the summons to Island Park Justice Court,127 Long Beach Rd., Island Park, NY 11558.
Parking Tickets are due on the date written on the ticket. Fines increase after the due date, so please pay promptly. Tickets are payable to the Island Park Justice Court by check or money order. Please do not send cash. The fines are listed on the back of the ticket.
If you wish to plead not guilty, please mail ticket and explanation to the Island Park Justice Court within 10 days of the date of violation. If your ticket is not dismissed, you are entitled to a trial. A trial will NOT be scheduled for you unless you advise the court in writing that you would like one. All parking trials are held on conference nights.
In accordance with Village Law, if you have more than 3 outstanding parking tickets , the Village can and will suspend your registration. It is in your best interest to pay all parking tickets promptly.
